Is this Meta’s Answer to GitHub and OpenAI?
Meta is set to release a new AI model that generates code, according to reports from The Information and Gizmodo. The new model is called “Code Llama,” is based on the company’s language model LlaMA 2 and is meant to compete with Github’s copilot and other generative A.I. tools, such as Chat-GPT or Google Bard.
Like Copilot, The algorithm will reportedly suggest code to developers automatically as they type. The model could be released as soon as next week, and the nature of it being open-source means that it can be accessible for all.
It seems Meta is content of releasing all of it’s A.I software open source, like LlaMA 2. Meta realizes that not offering their products behind a paywall greatly increases access, which can give it a leg up over other programs.
